The landscape of Iceland is amazing! One must-see location is the Thingvellir National Park where the movement of the tectonic plates has created rifts. The natural green and brown colors gives the photo an organic feel that adds to your interior with an element of nature.

STANDARD photos are available in several sizes (choose from the Select menu) and are printed on high quality photo paper (matte or glossy depending on what suites the photo best). They are signed on the back side. Standard photos are not numbered and do not come with a Certificate of Authenticity or the Full Story (see the Deluxe photo info below).
DELUXE photos are available in several sizes (choose from the Select menu) and are printed on High Quality Fine Art Paper. They are signed on the front side and numbered as well as signed on the backside. With the Deluxe photo comes a Certificate of Authenticity which proves that the number is authentic and made by me. A signed and numbered artwork is always an investment. Deluxe photos are delivered in a tube.

TECTONIC PLATES – Landscape Photo Print

When tectonic plates are slowly moving apart it will shape the landscape give it a surreal look. Þingvellir National Park in Iceland is such a surreal looking place. Being there feels like being on another planet.
Me and my wife went to Þingvellir on our fourth day in Iceland. Now when you have seen lots of mountanins, rivers, lakes and waterfalls (they are everywhere), what could possibly be new to us there? A lot, actually.
This is where you clearly can see what happens to a landscape when land masses are drawn apart. Sometimes the result is volcanic activity. But here the mountains are cracking up and are moving apart, creating fissures all over the area.
We spent a couple of hours there but you could easily—certainly as a photographer—have spent the whole day walking around and capturing all sorts of shapes and forms in the landscape.
In September the bush vegetation has vivid autumn colours which made it even more beautiful. It contrasted against the blue colored mountains in the distance. The water was crystal clear and you could see fish as you crossed the bridges.
Fun fact: the public toilet which must have the most amazing view you could imagine …
