A photo print of the lightning will make people's jaws drop when they see it on the wall. This is truly an amazing moment, seen only in a fracture of a second but captured by the camera. There are details in the lightning that you never have a chance to study in real life. But in a photo you will have the opportunity to see all the beautiful details. No A.I. generated edits. Pure documentation.

DOWN TO EARTH – Lightning Photo Print
Black Friday 2024
I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew the conditions were right: darkness and an intensive thunderstorm. Those two things are a rare combination here in Finland and I was prepared. First I took some shots in the town, but it was raining and my lens got wet.
So I relocated and chose a spot on the harbour pier. There were lightnings both to the north and to the west so I pointed my camera in the other direction after each shot. That way I managed to collect many more great lightning shots. The sky was now clear above me. It wasn't raining anymore and the stars decorated the sky. It was warm and calm. I love thunderstorms and watching it under these conditions was awesome.
The reflections of the lightning in the water was someting I really wanted in my picutres so I was extra careful pointing my camera not too high or zooming in too much. I concider this to be my starting point for becoming a passionate night photographer. The following winters I got very entusiastic about shooting Northern Lights.
