The northern lights season starts in August. The photo shows not only the northern ligts but also the twilight colors by the horizon. The girl standing on the rock with the storm lamp puts a human element into the photo.

NO WORDS – Authentic Aurora Photo Print
On August 27 it was time for the first aurora of the 2021–2022 season. Aurora indexes in my forecast app were crazy high during the evening, but darkness wouldn’t enter the stage until 11:30 pm. So I prepared for a late start and I also asked my oldest daughter if she would come along.
The location I chose this time is an awesome sand beach with flat cliffs in the middle. We left home at 10:30 pm and reached the beach right after 11 pm. The sky was only just dark enough to reveal the action in the sky. We saw a string of the aurora rising from the north-east and going straight over our heads and down to the south-west. Every now and then a distinct band of stronger auroras appeared closer to the northern horizon which was still orange although the sun had set more than a couple of hours earlier.
We went onto the flat rocks and started our photo shoot. The sea was calm with only tiny waves making a pleasant sound when licking the edge of the rocks. The moon lit up the landscape from a flat angle and the temperature was +10° Celsius (50°F). It was a beautiful night.
Feeling speechless is a fair reaction to a great view of the Northern Lights so I think No Words a suitable title …
