MYSTERY – Authentic Aurora Photo Print
Are the northern lights always green? No, sometimes you see red auroras and also blue, purple and pink. But green remains the main color. This particular night I had the opportunity to see some amazing red auroras.
On September 24 2023 the earth got hit by a particle cloud thrown out from the sun, which meant increasing auroral activity. I, of course, took the opportunity and went out.
The location I had selected was a series of sandy beaches connected by tiny headlands with trees. When arriving I discovered that the northern lights were already huge and my wide angle lens could not fit everything into one picture. My phone made sounds repeatedly as my aurora app gave me notifications of the geomagnetic storm.
At one point the strongest northern lights were seen straight to the south. That’s rare on my latitudes, 330 kilometers (200 miles) south from the Arctic Circle. To the north I began to see more red colors. It looked awesome!
At 2 am I found this little grove of trees surrounded by sand on one side and the sea on the other. There were two boats laying on the beach. Can you see them?
